1. Service Description

Sentinel Security Agent ("Sentinel," "we," "us") provides an automated smart contract security analysis engine (the "Service"). The Service identifies potential vulnerabilities in smart contract source code through static analysis, pattern matching, and optional AI-assisted review. The Service is available via REST API, web dashboard, desktop application, and command-line interface.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you ("User," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Use of the Service also constitutes acceptance of our Privacy Policy.

3. User Accounts and API Keys

Access to the Service requires a valid API key.

You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and for all activity conducted under it.

We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are compromised, shared publicly, or used in violation of these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Your Code

You retain all intellectual property rights to any source code you submit for audit. Sentinel does not claim any ownership, license, or rights over your submitted code or the audit results generated from it.

4.2 Our Service

The Sentinel engine, detection rules, analysis algorithms, and associated software are proprietary and licensed under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1). See the LICENSE file for full terms. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the detection logic of the Service.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Sentinel does not guarantee detection of all vulnerabilities. Automated analysis has inherent limitations and cannot replace a comprehensive manual security audit.

Sentinel is not liable for any losses, damages, or exploits arising from vulnerabilities that the Service failed to detect.

Sentinel is not liable for any losses resulting from reliance on audit results, including but not limited to financial losses from smart contract exploits, deployment of audited code, or decisions made based on audit findings.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to Sentinel in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

Identify vulnerabilities in smart contracts for the purpose of exploiting them, including but not limited to theft of funds, manipulation of protocols, or any form of malicious activity.

Submit code you do not have the legal right to analyze.

Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other security controls.

Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its outputs without written permission.

Perform denial-of-service attacks or submit excessively large or malformed inputs intended to degrade the Service.

Use the Service in connection with any illegal activity.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of access without refund.

7. Payments and Refunds

7.1 Pricing

The Service offers tiered pricing as displayed on the web dashboard and API documentation. Prices are denominated in USDC, ETH, or BNB and are subject to change with 30 days notice.

7.2 Refund Policy

Completed audits are non-refundable. Once an audit has been processed and results delivered, no refund will be issued regardless of the findings or outcome.

Failed or unstarted audits may be refunded at our discretion within 30 days of payment. To request a refund, contact us via Twitter DM at @SentinelEngine with your transaction hash and payment details.

Service degradation: If the AI-enhanced analysis is temporarily unavailable, deterministic-only results will be delivered with a notice. This does not constitute grounds for a refund, as the core engine analysis is always included.

7.3 Payment Verification

Payments are verified on-chain via block explorer APIs. The required number of block confirmations varies by chain (typically 12 for Ethereum/Base, 15 for BSC). Each transaction hash can only be used to unlock one audit.

8. Rate Limits and Fair Use

API access is subject to rate limits as documented in the API reference.

Excessive usage that degrades service quality for other users may result in temporary throttling or suspension.

Enterprise rate limit agreements are available upon request.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible. We are not liable for downtime or service interruptions.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sentinel, its officers, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Modification of Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via API changelog or dashboard notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked and any stored audit history will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction — to be determined upon incorporation]. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [Jurisdiction].

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
